Volunteering at St Joseph's School

At St Joseph's School we are committed to the safety of our students, staff and community.
To become a volunteer please read the following sections and complete required forms and return all documentation to the school office:

All volunteers who attend St Joseph's School are required to read the Volunteer Information/Induction Booklet which includes:

  • Volunteer Rights & Responsibilities
  • Protective Practices
  • RRHAN-EC Training
  • WHS & Injury Management Policy
  • Volunteer Safety Handbook

Please print and complete the following forms (if required, printed copies are available) to the front office:

At St Joseph's School volunteers must have a current Working with Children Check (WWCC).

If you do not have a current WWCC, you can obtain one through the front office at the school.
All you need to do is, fill in the initiation request form, bring this in, along with your 100 points of proof of identification to the front office.  Please supply original (or certified) copies.  If the name you use on your ID document differs, please bring proof of name change eg Marriage Certificate.

All Volunteers at St Joseph's School must have a current RRHAN-EC certificate (responding to Risks of Harm, Abuses and Neglect - Education & Care).

Volunteers can access the free RRHAN-EC Fundamentals training at www.plink.sa.edu.au

The training will take approximately 2 hours and is valid for 3 years.  Current certificates expire 31/12/2024. Once completed, a copy of your certificate must be emailed to nimcmurray@stjoclar.catholic.edu.au

Please note, whilst volunteers undertake this course, we will continue to allow parents to be involved in activities involving students as long as they are under teacher supervision, however, if attending activities such as excursions/camps the RRHAN-EC course MUST be completed.

St Joseph's School, in the past, has provided parents/caregivers the opportunity to undertake the RRHAN-EC course at school.  The school provides the parents/caregivers with a computer in a quite space.  If you have been meaning to undertake this course and would like to do it at school, please contact the front office to organise.

Wait for an email from DHS Screening Unit to activate your account. Please check your inbox and also your Junk/Spam inbox for their email.

Once you have received your email, please read the 'What do I need to do now' page for the next step.

Volunteers do not need to be vaccinated against COVID-19, with the exception of people volunteering in CESA High-Risk Settings.  Volunteers are however strongly encouraged to have and maintain an Up-To-Date Vaccination Status in accordance with the ATAGI statement.  The vaccination requirement for people volunteering in CESA High-Risk Settings is a condition of engagement unless an exemption is approved in accordance with the CESA COVID-19 Policy.

Please read the Catholic Education COVID-19 Policy
